Surrender

"Surrender! You mean you wish to surrender to me? Very well, I accept"--The Princess Bride

sur·ren·der - 1 a : to yield to the power, control, or possession of another upon compulsion or demand b : to give up completely or agree to forgo especially in favor of another 2 a : to give (oneself) up into the power of another especially as a prisoner b : to give (oneself) over to something (as an influence) intransitive senses : to give oneself up into the power of another : YIELD synonym

I tend to have difficulty yielding control of situations and I always want to be in control of what's happening. I think sometimes it's important to just give into what is happening and let someone, or something, else take control.

"Change is the essence of life. Be willing to surrender what you are for what you could become"

I think this week I'm going to try to surrender to what is happening in life; to what is happening every day. Not try to change the situation or try to fix things, as I typically try to do.

“If you surrender completely to the moments as they pass, you live more richly those moments.” - Anne Morrow Lindbergh

“Give up all bad qualities in you, banish the ego and develop the spirit of surrender. You will then experience Bliss.” - Sri Sathya Sai Baba
